Samantha was getting ready at her parent’s home in Sway with her bridesmaids. There was an air of calm when we arrived and the girls were enjoying crumpets and toasted teacakes!
The bridesmaids were pretty well ready only needing a few finishing touches before putting on their dresses. Samantha was having her hair styled by Emmy from No 11 The salon and was entertained by the bridesmaids standing in a line each lacing up the dress of the bridesmaid in front, quite an assembly line!
The bouquets were made by Janet a family friend, who did a sterling job, they were really nice and the colour of the lilies in the bride’s bouquet were quite unusual, complimenting the colour of the bridesmaid’s dresses perfectly.
Samantha was in her dress ahead of time. We can never have too much time with the bride at home and we were able to spend time with the bridesmaids and Samantha’s family.
We were soon on our way over to Highcliffe Castle. The ceremony was the last of the day and the reception was also being held here. We arrived to find the grounds fairly quiet, not so many visitors today as the weather was a little overcast and breezy. The Groom, Best men and Ushers arrived and after a few photos greeted the wedding guests.
The bridesmaids arrived in a VW bus and headed straight for the castle to await the Sam’s arrival. it was turning pretty chilly by now. Sam arrived with her Dad in a VW cabriolet named Betty from Solent Bug and Bus Hire and after seeing the registrar climbed back into the VW and braved the top down for the drive around the corner.
The ceremony was watched and enjoyed by Samantha and Richard’s family and friends who joined the newly married couple for some photographs before retreating back inside the castle for their well deserved drinks.
Samantha and Richard had always wanted to go to the beach for some photos, the weather really wasn’t being that kind to them, it was now quite dull, windy and cold. They were determined though and we set off for the beach. We worked quickly on the beach so that Sam didn’t turn blue before we retreated to the castle grounds. We were met by two of the bridesmaids just as it started to rain. They came dressed for the occasion with an umbrella and headscarfs but still wearing their smiles!
The last few photos that we had planned were around the castle’s north door which is sheltered. This led us nicely into the wedding breakfast which was followed by speeches before everyone headed off into the disco where the floor remained packed for the rest of the evening.
Samantha and Richard are enjoying a honeymoon in Dubrovnik, Croatia. We hope you enjoy this small selection and we look forward to seeing you soon.
We wish you all the very best for your future together.
