Rain, rain, rain – will it ever stop!!
Off to The Chine today for the ceremony and celebrations. With everything being held in one location it was going to make moving around much easier not having to keep going out in the rain. Not only was it raining but it was quite blustery. The forecast however was that it was going to clear up.
Emma’s friends were busy doing her hair and make-up when we arrived and all well on time. The bouquets made by Clair one of the bridesmaids were having the final touches made and we were ready to photograph the accessories. The videographers Kady and Bryony arrived and with some juggling we all managed to do what we needed to do and join in with some of the laughter and fun.
Emma was helped into her dress by the bridesmaids. She looked stunning in her dress from Chameleon, it was so elegant and was perfect for the venue. We made the most of this time with her and achieved some stunning images of Emma before photographing her with the Bridesmaids, her daughter the flower girl and her parents.
It was still raining when we met Graeme and the groomsmen who looked fabulous in their kilts, so we had to do most of the photography under the hotel porch canopy. A piper was playing just outside to greet the guests as they arrived. The rain seemed to be easing off a little.
We set up our positions in the ceremony and were pleased to see Cathy and Margaret the registrars for the wedding ceremony who are friendly, professional and very obliging before returning to the Bride for the walk down to the ceremony.
Emma’s entrance was announced by the sound of bagpipes. She was escorted down the aisle by her dad with the piper heading the procession, what a grand entrance!
After the emotional ceremony, the newly married couple headed up the aisle. Not sure if it was still raining they headed for the garden, luck was certainly on their side the rain had stopped and drinks were served in the garden. As the guests enjoyed their drinks the formal family photos were taken before we headed off to the lower gardens with the bridal party. The ushers and bridesmaids were very lively now that the formalities were over and up for a little fun before leaving us to return to the other guests.
We spent a little time with Emma and Graeme alone in the garden for a few special images of just the two of them before the wedding breakfast.
The wedding breakfast was followed by the speeches and while the DJ setup and the room was prepared for the evening, the guests were treated to a casino. The single ladies joined Emma in the garden for the tradition of ‘throwing the bouquet’ which always creates some fun and laughter. After which we slipped away to the beach with the couple, they had really wanted to go down to the beach and pier. It was very cold and blustery. We worked quickly so that Emma wouldn’t get too cold and popped a wrap around her shoulders in between shots.
The evening got underway with the couple’s first dance, the floor remained full for the remainder of the evening with the guests showing a variety of lively dance moves all having a fantastic time.
We would like to thank Emma and Graeme for their hospitality, we enjoyed working with you and really pleased that you chose us as your wedding photographers. We hope that you enjoy these few images and look forward to showing many more when you return from honeymoon.
