WOW!!! can’t believe that it’s 1st October and the temperature is rising. We remember our discussion at the planning meeting advising Gemma to have something warm to pop around her shoulders especially when we were on the beach, but the fan that she carried and the bridesmaids fans weren’t enough to keep them cool.
Gemma and her bridesmaids got ready at the Haven Hotel in a welcome air-conditioned room. Her make-up artist was a friend from Canada, the hairdresser was off to Florence that afternoon, a bridesmaid from America and another from Australia, there was certainly a theme of travel running through this wedding.
The guests arrived at Wimborne Minster on a routemaster bus with Gemma although they got off a stop early outside the Minster and Gemma went on into the Square to walk through the town.
Ben waited in the coolness of the Minster for his Bride to join him. The aisle is long and makes such a grand entrance for a bride. Everyone waits in anticipation as to what the Bride will be wearing and Gemma didn’t disappoint. With the ceremony over everyone greeted Ben & Gem as the new Mr & Mrs outside the Minster in the glorious sunshine.
With a few formal photos it was time to head back to The Haven Hotel on the red bus. This took longer than expected, we can honestly say that we have never seen so much traffic on the Sandbanks peninsula as we did today, not even in July and August!
So with a quick reception drink we headed down to the beach for some photos with the Bridal party before being left with just the Bride and Groom. The guests were enjoying their drinks in the sunshine on the Haven’s terrace.
We wish Ben and Gemma all the very best for their future together and hope that they have a long and happy life together.
