Today’s wedding between Kirsty and Steve was taking place at St Andrews in Kinson and The Cumberland Hotel for the reception.
Kirsty was getting ready at her parent’s home. we arrived to find everything going to plan. Kirsty had left all of the accessories out, the wedding dress and bridesmaid’s dresses were hanging up alongside it so that we could get on without interrupting the preparations.
Kirsty had received a couple of presents from Steve which included a locket containing photographs of her Grandads so that they would be with her for this special day, this bought a tear but luckily it was before she had her makeup applied.
Soon she was ready to get into her dress. It’s so nice not to have to rush at this point and while everyone else was getting ready we had some time alone with Kirsty and for someone who doesn’t like having their photo taken she did brilliantly.
Steve arrived at the church in a camper van in high spirits along with his best man and ushers who were all good fun. After some arrival shots they greeted the guests who were all arriving early. it was as though the service was half an hour earlier than we were expecting but no they all just seemed to be keen to be there early to enjoy the day.
Kirsty arrived early and we had to hold her back while the guys had one last comfort stop. This was truly a breath of fresh air not having to rush everything, even the ceremony started a few minutes early!
The church ceremony was in very low light (the church has a problem with electrics) but with lots of tealights and candles it made it very romantic. Steve’s god-daughter stole the show for a moment by appearing during a hymn taking a rose from the vicar and put it to her nose to smell the scent, it was one of those moments that just happen and we were there to capture it.
Kirsty and Steve sealed their marriage with the traditional kiss and signed the registers before they processed out of the church into autumn sunshine. The family photos were followed by the shower of confetti before the couple were whisked away in a deep pink and white hot rod.
On route to the reception we stopped off at Coy Pond for some Bride and Groom images, we even arrived there early which gave us plenty of time for a variety of images with some early autumn colours before heading off to The Cumberland to rejoin the guests.
We will always remember Kirsty as being our ‘earlybride’. We wish Kirsty and Steve all the very best for their future together and hope that they have a long and happy life together.
