Lisa & Billy’s Wedding 7th July 2012

Wedding Ceremony and Reception held at The Captains Club Christchurch

We first met Lisa when she was a bridesmaid at the wedding of Mel and Simon whose wedding we photographed in 2009. This time it was Lisa’s turn to be the Bride and Mel the bridesmaid. So there were a few familiar faces and an addition to Mel and Simon’s family, Bradley, who looked so cute in his suit.

We found Lisa with her Bridesmaids and Mum in one of the hotel suites having their hair and make-up done. Luckily the ceremony and reception were all happening at the Captains Club as it was ‘chucking it down’, the rain was quite relentless and there were no signs of it stopping.

We met Billy and his Groomsmen in the bar and managed a few photos of them under the hotel entrance canopy. Michael Judd the toastmaster was soon assisting the guys in getting the guests to make their way to the ceremony room.

Lisa arrived looking quite stunning and made her grand entrance on the arm of her Dad into the ceremony room with her Bridesmaids. After the ceremony and the signing of the register the newly married couple made their way out of the room to a glass of champagne so that the celebrations could begin. It was still raining at this point so the family and group photos were taken in a room next to the ceremony area which was now being prepared for the wedding breakfast. The toastmaster was brilliant in moving people around so that we could work quickly.

With the reception room ready the wedding breakfast was soon being served. As the dessert was being served a surprise for the guests was unfolding. Three guys dressed as waiters burst into song (The Singing Waiters) and entertained everyone with some interesting songs, serenading, high notes and a rather amusing accents. They were absolutely brilliant.

As the wedding breakfast finished it stopped raining. Lisa was keen to get outside for some photos, we dashed out for a few before it started to rain again. It could rain all it liked now as the party was about to start. Ashley Hooper the DJ invited the couple to take to the dance floor for their first dance after which everyone joined in, looked like it was going to be quite a lively night!

We wish Lisa and Billy a very happy and long life together. We are busy preparing their images from the day so while we are doing this we hope you enjoy these few images from their day.
