Kate and Ollie’s wedding ceremony at St Marys Church Swanage with a reception at The Purbeck House Hotel and Ice Creams on Swanage beach!!
Although the day was overcast with a bitterly cold easterly wind it wasn’t going to stop Kate and Ollie from continuing with their plans to have an ice cream on the beach with their guests after the church ceremony.
The ceremony was at St Marys in Swanage and was conducted by The Revd. John Wood, who we have come to know over the years and is always very friendly and accommodating. He made Kate and Ollie feel at ease and made the ceremony personal to them.
With the ceremony complete Kate and Ollie made their exit to a guard of honour of lifeboat crew members, before returning into the church for some family photos. After the photos the guests left the church ahead of the newly married couple to see them exit through the guard of honour before showering them with confetti.
Ollie and Kate left for the beach and the guests joined them for an ice cream although not too many of them went down onto the beach. The weather didn’t stop Kate and Ollie who took it in their stride to have a few photos on the beach and on the Banjo Pier before Kate decided to go for a paddle, a very brave Bride!
Back at the Purbeck House Hotel the guests were enjoying a welcome drink and warm up while Kate and Ollie were out in the gardens for a few photos with the Bridal party. Many couples would have opted to stay inside for their photos but not Ollie and Kate who enjoy the outdoor life.
The toastmaster Stuart organised the greeting line so that the guests could be welcomed into the wedding breakfast which was followed by speeches and the ‘cutting of the cake’.
The evening’s entertainment that followed the couples’ first dance was a barn dance which was very lively. The ‘Black Sheep’ did a fabulous job of keeping everyone on the dance floor and having a great time.
We would like to thank Stuart the toastmaster and Dawn the wedding co-ordinator for making us feel welcome and helping the day run smoothly. We also thank Kate, Ollie and their families for their hospitality.
We wish Kate and Ollie all the very best for their future together and hope that they have a fantastic honeymoon.
We are busy preparing their images from the day so while we are doing this we hope you enjoy these few images.
