Sharon and Simon’s Wedding at St Aldhelm’s Church, Branksome and Parley Manor, Christchurch, Dorset
A beautiful wedding for a lovely couple on a very hot summer’s day with close family and friends all playing a part in the day.
Bridal preparations were relaxed and while hair was being styled and make-up applied we got on with photographing the details, loved the notice on the Bride’s bedroom door – ‘Bride’s Dressing Room’ with the fabulous dress hanging up in the background.
Sharon looked stunning, her Dad came in to get his first glimpse of his daughter in all her glory and it was obvious that he felt great pride and was blown away by how stunning she looked.
We left Sharon with her Bridesmaids for a little chill time and no doubt a glass of champagne to meet the Groom’s party at the church. The church is larger than it looks from the outside and the welcome is very warm and accommodating. As the guests started to arrive they headed for any shade they could find or waited inside the church where it was slightly cooler, the day was certainly hotting up. Simon and the guys made their final checks that everything was as planned and took their places as Sharon’s arrival was imminent.
The ceremony was very personal and it is one of the only ceremonies that we can remember where the Bride and Groom made their vows without having to repeat it line by line but from memory.
The newly married couple walked back up the aisle with beaming smiles and led their guests out into the little garden by the side of the church for the formal photos and confetti throw.
The trip to the beach with the couple was decided against as we knew it would be hard to find any space on the beach even if we could get in the car park! The car driver had also told us that a couple the day before had to abandon their trip to the beach as they couldn’t get anywhere near it.
So it was straight on to Parley Manor for photos in the gardens.
At Parley we headed for some shade with the couple under the trees and Merlin’s supplied us with a refreshing jug of iced water, how thoughtful and most welcome. While we were with Sharon and Simon the guests were enjoying reception drinks and a fun casino.
We left the couple in a quiet area to spend some time alone. We made our way over to the marquee which had been beautifully decorated, such vibrant colours and attention to detail. The cake was amazing, shame it had to be cut!
A receiving line greeted the guests into the wedding breakfast and the speeches were made before the meal was served, unusually there were six speakers all of which made it obvious that Sharon and Simon are a very special couple. Luck was also on their side in that during the speeches the rain came, it poured it down and it had all cleared up by the time that the wedding breakfast had finished and we were able to get the overhead group shot as planned while the room was prepared for the evening.
The couple’s first dance started off normally and then suddenly they were joined by another two couples and it went into a choreographed ‘dance off’. A fabulous routine with such energy and enjoyed by all.
More fun was to be had with our ‘Fun Fotobooth’ service and the dancing continued into the night.
We would like to thank Sharon and Simon for their hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed their wedding and we wish them all the very best for their future together.
We are busy preparing their images from the day so while we are doing this we hope you have enjoyed these images. The following link will take you directly to their online galleries within our client area. The images above are already there if you wish to view and purchase any of them. All of the photos from the day will be available to view there as well as soon as we have finished editing and Sharon and Simon have had first look.
